SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A heavy police presence was located on North 5th Street in Springfield as of Thursday afternoon.
It’s happening around the 700 block, the Springfield Police Department confirmed. They said more information will be released soon.
WCIA reached out to department officials, who said they are uncertain if the presence is still related to Thursday morning’s shooting in the same location. But they added that there is no threat to the public.
