Kate Demolder: July’s top new beauty releases

1. Your Skin Stuff (RRP €19.50 – €24.50, yourskinstuff.com)

Has your pre-teen, tween or child been pestering you for skin-care products that you won’t buy as you know it will harm their skin?

Then Your Skin Stuff, the new skincare range tailored exclusively for eight to 12-year-olds, is for you.

Pioneered by the brains behind Waxperts, the range – which includes two cleansers, three serums and a moisturiser – has been dermatologically tested and created with pre-teen skin in mind to encourage healthy skin habits.

2. POCO Beauty Cheek Haze Collection (€23 each, pocobeauty.com)

Another hit from one of Ireland’s most exciting new brands.

Adding to the previous blush count of one, Pippa O’Connor and her team have curated a whole blush gallery for those looking to play in the pinks, reds and peaches of complexion products.

Cream and dewy, this gives the look of Hailey Bieber’s Rhode for less.

3. Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick (€47, Brown Thomas)

Team Tilbury is back with a new foundation – and this time it’s in stick form.

Lightweight and dewy, this picks up where Flawless Filter left off, offering a lighter, fresh and no-makeup makeup base for warmer days.

“Ring light skin in a stick,” according to the woman herself.

This one is for those who usually eschew heavier foundations and want to show off their freckles.

4. Rimmel Thrill Seeker Extreme Volume Mascara (€16.99, pharmacies nationwide)

The British brand has released its most extreme volume mascara yet in Thrill Seeker, a product which benefits from a trio of waxes to create a supreme volume that lasts up to 24 hours.

The new tapered fibre brush is designed to grab and coat each lash for instant impact and create five times more volume when compared with bare lashes.

5. Nak Hair Dry Texture Spray (€20.90, salons nationwide and Millies)

Australian brand Nak has launched a lightweight texture spray for those looking to build body and volume while also taming flyaways.

It works by way of rice and aloe powder particles, which attach to the hair surface and create micro spaces between hair strands for a full-bodied effect, while also blending co-polymers to build a base of flexible hold. Trust the Aussies to create the perfect hair product for sunnier days.

6. Joico Blonde Life Blonde Strong Detangler for Fragile Hair (€26.90, joico.com)

This multi-tasking protector helps to detangle fragile hair post-bleach. It is designed for compromised blonde hair that’s seen long-term lightening services. It strengthens, detangles, hydrates and heat protects all in one.

7. Josh Wood Colour Root Smudge (€16, Millies)

Trips between salon visits can be extended further now that hairstylist Josh’s compact root smudge is around.

The easiest way to instantly cover greys and tackle outgrown roots (we’ve all had battles with splattery root sprays over the years), this creamy powder and double-ended brush makes for zero-mess, precise application when your hair needs a colour root boost.

Available in blonde, brown and dark brown.

8. Hildun Beauty Spiced Pecan (€18, hildunbeauty.com)

Irish brands are doing phenomenally right now and few more than Hildun, the brainchild of former beauty writer Suzy Griffin Dunne, whose line has been the toast of OG beauty bloggers such as Sali Hughes.

At an event for the brand, someone described them as “the butteriness of Victoria Beckham pencils, the staying power of NARS, at the price point of Rimmel” and I couldn’t say it better myself.

The Spiced Pecan shade is a collaboration with makeup artist Hannah Martin and is a beautiful coppery brown with a light shimmer.

Consider it a less harsh swap for your usual black and a must-have for green, blue and hazel eyes.
