Springfield 'Friday Night Jazz & Blues' concert lineup announced for August

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Springfield Area Arts Council announced its “Friday Night Jazz & Blues” concert series lineup for August.

Formerly known as “Uptown Friday Night,” the year-round program was rebranded as “Friday Night Jazz & Blues” in 2021. Jazz and blues bands ranging from local to national level have all taken part in the series.

Downtown Springfield victims of June fire get funds for recovery

Each of the following concerts will be held at Boone’s in downtown Springfield (301 West Edwards Street) from 5:30-7:30 p.m.:

• Aug. 2 – Jambalaya Jazz
• Aug. 9 -The Latin Jazz Project
• Aug. 16 – Rudy Boz and Friends
• Aug. 23 – The Three Tenors
• Aug. 30 – Max Osawa Quartet

The concerts are family-friendly and free, with food and drinks available for purchase. There will also be cash-only 50/50 raffles for the Springfield Area Arts Council.
