Technically var can only be considered positive because it objectively enforces the rules in controversial situations, however there is something to be said about being too strict. The danish goal that was disallowed against germany would have NEVER been called offside before VAR, we are talking about millimeters, the same goes for the penalty that was awarded. Sure they are technically correct decisions but I can’t help but think they take some magic out of the game. Especially for the offside rule I think they should introduce a “margin” where if the player is offside by 5cm or less (random example) VAR check cannot intervene.
