
Australian paddlers Jess Fox and Tristan Carter are safely through to the semi-finals after the opening day of action at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium.
In the Women’s K1 Slalom, Fox qualified as the fastest paddler, setting a time of 92.18 seconds in her second qualifying run.
She is back in action tonight in the semi-final at 11:30pm AEST where heat times are scrapped, and the top 10 paddlers advance to the final at 1:45am AEST (Monday).
Fox is the current World Champion and has won three Olympic medals in this event – silver in London and bronze in Rio and Tokyo.
Carter finished ninth in the Men’s C1 Slalom heats and moves into Tuesday’s semi-finals.
