FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC4) — A Farmington man was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly exposed himself to children at a water park — and officials believe he has been involved in similar incidents in the past.
Camron Cafferty, 55, was arrested by the Davis County Sheriff’s Office for two counts of lewdness involving a child.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Cafferty reportedly went to a water park in Davis County on June 1. At the park, officials said he allegedly “intentionally exposed himself to two children in the park.”
“Despite facing a traumatic incident, two brave young victims were able to come forward and help law enforcement identity an alleged serial lewdness suspect,” Sheriff Kelly V. Sparks of the DCSO said.
Cafferty visited the same park again in July, but employees of the park notified law enforcement.
“Detectives have reason to believe that Cafferty may be involved in other lewdness cases in and around Davis County and has a history of prior lewdness incidents,” the release said.
Sparks said the sheriff’s office is “grateful to our team of detectives and deputies who worked this case to ensure this individual was taken into custody and is held accountable for his actions.”
The Davis County Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone with information — or any other potential victims — to come forward.
Anyone with information on Cafferty has been asked to call the non-emergency dispatch line for the Davis County Sheriff’s Office at 801-451-4150. If discussing Cafferty, the sheriff’s office said callers may reference case number D24-11499.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
