PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are searching for three gunmen after a teenager was killed execution-style on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of Van Kirk Street in the city’s Oxford Circle section.
Officers found the 16-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds while lying on the ground behind a home on the block.
He was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, three gunmen were seen chasing the victim while opening fire.
After the victim collapses in the driveway, video reportedly shows at least two gunmen standing over the teen and shooting at him just a few feet away.
“So it appears to be an execution-type homicide, since the shooters are seeing on camera standing over the victim, and we also found multiple spent shell casing just inches away,” said Small.
More than 50 gunshots were fired.
The suspects were last seen fleeing in a white sedan.
The teenager’s name has not been released.
