'Cinnamon Rolls for Graydon': Shelbyville cafe supporting 14-year-old killed in Neoga

SHELBYVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — In Shelby County, the community is doing what they can to support nearby Neoga. 14-year-old Graydon Mendenhall died after an ATV accident on Monday afternoon.

Iced, a cafe in downtown Shelbyville, is doing “cinnamon rolls for Graydon” on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. All the money, plus tips, is going toward funeral expenses.

“We love to bake. We put our heart into it and it just comes naturally to help other families when they’re hurting,” Heidi Denning, the owner, said. “You feel like you can’t do anything else. So, at least trying to help them out in this horrible time is the least we can do.”

About a week ago, Iced did something similar for the Stew-Stras community. They raised $1,200 for three girls killed in the UTV accident earlier in July.

If you’re interested in buying one dozen of cinnamon rolls to support Graydon, visit the Iced Facebook page. You can send them a message, or call the store at 217-774-2247 to place an order ahead of time.
