Champaign County Fair to feature Raminator monster truck

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — On Wednesday night, the world-famous Raminator monster truck will be racing at the Champaign County Fair.

The race will begin at 7 p.m. at the Champaign County Fairgrounds. It will also feature other impressive monster trucks, including the Rammunition.

According to the Hall Bros. Racing, Inc. website, their Raminator truck was built in Champaign and boasts more than 2000 horsepower with a 565-cubic-inch Supercharged Hemi Engine. The $150,000 monster truck is 10,300 pounds, 10 feet tall, and more than 12 feet wide. These are all reasons that Monster Jam deemed the truck “nearly unstoppable.”

From 4-6:30 p.m., fans can even go for a ride in the Raminator for donations towards Kesler Hall. They can also register to enter the 2024 Stellantis sweepstakes, which will give entrants a chance to win $100,000 towards a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Truck or Fiat vehicle.

Photo opportunities with the monster truck will be available through the end of the fair on Saturday, July 27. These will be going on from 5-9 p.m. on weekdays and noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
