TOOELE COUNTY (ABC4) — Search and recovery efforts are underway after one person drowned at Grantsville Reservoir Thursday night, according to Tooele Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Tooele County Public Information Officer John Smith, responders hit the scene shortly after a 911 call came through after 9:30 p.m. Thursday night. Three swimmers were in the reservoir. Only two made it safely back to shore to call 911.
No names have been released, and it has not been made clear how the drowning occurred.
Smith said multiple boats were on the reservoir until around 3:30 a.m. this morning, and crews were expected to be out again at first light.
ABC4 has crews on the way to the scene. Officials are expected to give information later this morning.
